HRF Officially Launches on September 22nd, 2009

The Homaira Rahman Foundation (HRF) is a non-profit humanitarian organization with the mission to advance positive change for orphans of Afghanistan. Founded in April 2009 by family and friends of the late Ms. Homaira Rahman (1982 – 2008), HRF recognizes the need to preserve and protect a child’s right to unimpeded development with an emphasis on education.

HRF’s mission includes fulfilling an orphan’s basic physical and psychological needs, supporting orphanages in lesser developed and resource constrained regions, securing the resources necessary for a quality education, developing a professional and knowledgeable teacher corps, creating an educational infrastructure with viable and sustainable assistance program, and facilitating the construction of schools and learning centers.

On September 22, 2009, HRF is planning to hold its official launch event at George Mason University’s Arlington Campus in Arlington, Virginia at 7:00pm. The foundation invites the public to attend and take part in this formal introduction of HRF and its mission to support Afghanistan’s most vulnerable – its orphans.

As a partner of HRF, TriVision Studios has supported the organization by providing marketing, design and printing services for the foundation, in addition to creating and developing its website, HRFcares.org.

The core of HRF’s success relies on the generosity of donors and volunteers. To donate or learn more about HRF and its September 22nd launch, join its Facebook page or visit www.HRFcares.org.

Marketing on Social Networking Websites

It is not an understatement, to say the least, that social networking websites like Facebook and Twitter have changed the way many of us stay connected. It is also fair to state that this has transformed the information superhighway into a two-way street for communication between customers and businesses.

Social networking is a great way to build traffic on a website with less work than it typically takes to become ranked in search engines. Competing for traffic with other websites through search engine optimization can be time-consuming, not to mention more costly. Social networking websites can help business owners expand their customer base, drive their business goals, and collect customer feedback without spending cash.

Fan pages are Facebook’s latest way to allow businesses and organizations create a space of their own on the giant social network. As simple as a status update on Facebook (or for that matter, Twitter) can let “fans” or members of a group start talking about a certain topic that relates to the business. For example, a restaurant can change its status by writing “XYZ Restaurant is bringing brunch to the menu as a Mother’s Day special.” This, in turn, can result in a forum between people commenting about brunch and Mother’s Day. Obviously, the benefit the restaurant gets from this is the link created on customers’ minds between Mother’s Day and the restaurant, which in turn can generate more business.

Updates can also include notifications about other items on a Facebook page, including uploading a new photo album from a recent event, a flyer or coupon for a new product or service or sending an invite for an upcoming show. All of these incidents create a “buzz” and keep people in the loop of the company’s activities. Like a company website, social networking sites can be a wonderful vehicle to communicate with customers. Most importantly, it lets customers interact and feel included with an organization.

Another way to market on social networking sites is by purchasing ads, which allows a company to reach the exact target audience to lure them to their website or fan page. According to Facebook, the number of advertisers using the Facebook self-serve ad platform has more than tripled in the last year and is expected to grow even more in coming years.

TriVision Studios has taken advantage of social networking websites by creating pages on Facebook, Twitter and Myspace. TriVision understands that these sites provide more exposure to the company, increase traffic on its website, and keep the public informed on its services and activities.
