| Sesame Street, the television program that has helped educate millions of children around the world, is now being shown in schools and different educational settings in Afghanistan. Prepared by the non-profit organizations, Sesame Workshop and RAND Corporation, the program consists of more than 400 multi-media educational outreach kits. Each kit contains ten 20-minute-long videotaped episodes from material developed in Egypt for Alam Simsim, an Egyptian adaptation of Sesame Street funded by USAID. The program, which has been dubbed in Dari, is called Koche Sesame for the version created for Afghanistan. |
