Case Study : National Geographic

In 2008, for the first time ever, the United States exhibited Afghanistan’s re-discovered ancient archaeological treasures dating back to 4,000 years in a 17-month nationwide tour, called Afghanistan: Hidden Treasures from the National Museum, Kabul. TriVision Studios was given the opportunity to provide consultation, translation and design services for a 300 page book about the hidden treasures excavated and discovered by National Geographic. The curator and the “architect” behind this project, Dr. Frederik Hiebert from the National Geographic Society, worked directly with TriVision's creative team.

TriVision's strong design and language experts translated the English version to both Farsi/ Dari and Pashto languages. The goal was to develop an official companion guide to the exhibition shown across major galleries in the U.S. including the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. In the meantime, The National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC hired TriVision to provide publicity and promotions about the “Hidden Treasures from the National Museum, Kabul” exhibition.

TriVision created a theme around the entire exhibition of connecting the present Afghan “treasures” with those from the past, through “Children Song Book” publication. The “Children Song Book”, illustrated, compiled and designed by TriVision Studios was used as a supplement at the National Gallery of Art during the exhibition.

Both the exhibition and the publication of the "Afghanistan Hidden Treasures" was a huge success for the National Gallery of Art and the National Geographic Society with thousands of viewers visiting the exhibition and getting informed about Afghanistan’s magnificent past.
